Over the years, TEWFI has benefited from many volunteers visiting our centre from around the world. Each of these has contributed his or her talent to our projects. Their incredible energy, ideas, spirit, goodwill and intent have continuously been making a marked difference to the lives of our children and adults, and the many people they interact with. This, we are certain, will make a positive impact on their lives in the years to come.
We continue to seek motivated people with skills and experience which they would like to share with TEWFI. We welcome them warmly just as we enjoy inviting visitors and offering them our hospitality. At present we are constrained by limited accommodation which is currently situated within the Uluru Children's Home. To rectify this situation we are under the process of constructing a Visitors and Volunteers Accommodation Building just off-site of the Home. The site is somewhat flood-prone but it will be elevated and treated appropriately during the pre-construction stage.
The drawings below are by Rock Brown Projects Pty Ltd, Melbourne. Our pro bono architect Sandra Nervegna will also be involved with the final design and execution of the project. To facilitate this process, our Melbourne-based pro bono urban landscape design architect David Klingberg has put together with Sandra a master plan of our site with the completed buildings and those to be built, clearly demarcated: the visitor and volunteer accommodation is in the top left corner.
