In order to make the women self sufficient and increase their knowledge of the relevant issues, TEWFI has been conducting programmes for the Women at UNDP.

Tailoring Class: TEWFI has been organizing Tailoring classes at the Women’s Center in coordination with Pitchandikulam Forest, Auroville. In each batch around 30 adolescent girls and women benefit as a  result  of this programme.

English Class: With the assistance of the Volunteers, our Female Social Worker has been organizing a spoken English Class programme. This will help the women to market their products to the people from other states of Tamilnadu and also from overseas.

Health Education: Our Foundation has been running the following Health Education programme for adolescent girls and women in the Community.

• Reproductive and Child Health Care
• Family planning awareness
• Awareness on Anemia
• Nutrition Education
• Blood Donation and its importance
• Child rearing practice

TEWFI has organized a number of vocational training programmes for the women and girls in the Community. In the near future TEWFI has planned to organize the following Vocational Training programmes.

• Phenyl making
• Candle making
• Sanitary napkin pad making
• Sea weed cultivation
• Crab rearing
• Pickle making
• Cell phone repair making
• Paper bag and cup making.
