Another
first for the region is the TEWOAF Computer Educational
Centre at the Uluru Children’s Home being put
together with the assistance of Engineers Without
Borders (EWB).
The
Computer Centre will vastly improve the children’s
educational and employment opportunities and provides
the local community with access to vital medical,
educational and employment information online. The
current six computer network will expand to include
a multifunction centre featuring a projector and another
40 computers.
Children at UCH receive computer
lessons several times a week, while children from
surrounding areas also receive weekly tuition. The
Centre has been a great success, with lessons for
the wider community attracting large crowds at weekends.
