  • Meeting with Peer Educators 17/02/2012
TEWFI would like to make all the programmes run by the Social Workers in the community to be sustainable and to reach more people. When the Social Workers organize programmes in the community, they have to rely on some of the young adults from that community who are willing to help in the success of the programme. These young adults help mobilize the groups and make necessary arrangements for the programme to occur in their community. In Edaikazhinadu Panchayat, the Social Workers have identified several young adults and TEWFI would like to organize programmes for them to develop the ability of these individuals and to give them a title of Peer Educators. Over a period of time, they will gain the knowledge and skills in dealing with social problems independently and be able to educate their peers on what they have learnt. It will be very effective for positive influence among the other youths and improved attention to their peers.
