Health Care to the Wider Community

Ambulance Services:

The Uluru Health Care Centre (UHCC) serves the medical needs of a large population of 32,815 in the villages of Edaikazhinadu. Many cases occur during the hours when the UHCC is not open. To make sure that these cases receive immediate medical attention, an ambulance has been donated by the Rotary Club of Guam. This ambulance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Mobile Health Care Clinic:

Mobile Health care Clinic has been expanded to all 24 villages of Edaikazhinadu Panchayat. Many of those in surrounding villages are unable to make the journey to the UHCC as no reliable and convenient transport is available. This is particularly the case for older residents and for mothers with many children. Large crowds of people regularly visit this clinic service, which is staffed by our doctor, one nurse, and a community social worker. This service also includes activities for pre-school children, nutritional advice, advice on medications, monitoring of patients, counselling of patients and other advice as required.
